RECIPE
Beef
Since I got an excellent-performance grill at home, I always want to grill something every day. The most common choice for my grill is steak. All types of steaks are phenomenal while grilled.
The simple steak grilled with salt and pepper is actually great, as long as the meat is in good quality. However, in order to get more different flavorful joys, I also tried many different steak marinades.
As many of my friends love garlic, I made today’s recipe, the garlic marinated steak.
Ingredients you’ll need:
Steaks
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 tbsp minced garlic
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp cayenne pepper
Tools you’ll need:
Royal Gourmet Barbecue Tongs
Grills Recommended:
Royal Gourmet Gas Grill SG6002
Royal Gourmet Charcoal Grill with Offset Smoker CC1830F
The savory steaks in restaurants could be very expensive, however, you can actually achieve the best grilled steak in your backyard.
In a mixing bowl, add all the marinade ingredients together and whisk to combine well.
Get your steaks ready and put them in a Ziploc bag. It’s always convenient to marinate foods with Ziploc bags. Add the mixed marinade as well.
Seal the bag and keep shaking it slightly so that all the steaks get good contact with the garlic marinade.
Refrigerate the steaks for at least 2 hours.
Preheat your Royal Gourmet grill. If you are using a gas one, simply turn on the fire and close the lid. Charcoal grill works perfectly in this recipe, and if you are using that, light up the charcoals with chimney starter.
About 2-3 hours later when the steaks are well-marinated, take them out of the fridge and rest to room temperature.
One thing you should remember is that you never grill a cold, frozen steak directly. Or you’ll get some unexpected results.
While the steaks reach the room temperature and your grill is nice and hot, it’s time to grill. Lightly oil the grill grates.
Drain and discard the marinade, place the steaks on grates over medium high heat with Royal Gourmet barbecue tongs.
Start from the pleasant sizzling sound, you’ll need to grill the steaks about 6-8 minutes on each side, depending on the sizes and thickness of your steaks.
After the magic of time, you’ll see the beautiful sear marks and nice brown color. Flip over and keep grilling until the steaks reach your desired doneness.
Transfer the steaks to a cutting board. It is noticeable that you should use different pairs of tongs for raw and cooked meat.
Let the steaks rest for 15-20 minutes and slice to serve.
The steaks are pink in the center while nicely browned outside. The marinade imparts that spicy and garlicky flavor which is nothing but great. Once you take a single bite, you can never resist to such a tender and juice piece of meat.
