2 firm pears
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp finely chopped pecans
1 tsp finely chopped almonds
2 tsp oatmeal
1 tsp brown sugar
kosher salt, to taste
Preheat the grill to a medium heat.
Cut the pears from the top into halves and remove seeds to fit nut crumbles. Brush the pear all over with coconut oil and sprinkle some brown sugar on the flesh.
Cook the pears flesh side down on covered grill for about 10 minutes until it becomes soft and tender with beautiful grill mark.
Flip it up for another 10-15 minutes.
Mix the honey, cinnamon, pecans, almonds, oatmeal and kosher salt in a small bowl until they get finely mixed.
Take pears out and let them rest for a while after cooking. Top them with nut mixture and you can also top the pear a scoop of ice cream.
1. Selecting the right pear: pears should be firm and barely ripe so that they can hold the shape against heat of the grill.
2. It's a good way to slice away the root end of a pear before you can easily cut it into halves.
