Yogurt Marinated Chicken Skewers

Yogurt Marinated Chicken Skewers

It’s summer now and what should we do? Of course grill! In my backyard BBQ menu, there’re always something about chicken, BBQ chicken wings, grilled chicken breast, beer can chicken… who doesn’t like chicken? They are always delicious and easy to grill.

Today’s recipe offers a great way to marinate and grill chicken: the yogurt marinated chicken skewers. It’s different from the chicken skewers you had before and is really delicious. You definitely have to try.

Ingredients you’ll need:

Chicken breast (1/2 lb)

1 cup Greek yogurt

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp chili pepper

2 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp kosher salt

1/2 tsp ground black pepper

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tbsp cider vinegar

Zest from 1 lemon

Tools you’ll need:

Royal Gourmet Barbecue Tongs

Royal Gourmet Stainless Steel Barbecue Skewers

Grills Recommended:

Royal Gourmet Gas Grill SG6002

Royal Gourmet Charcoal Grill with Offset Smoker CC1830F

Cut the chicken breast into regular-size pieces. Put aside for later use.

In a big bowl, add all the marinade ingredients together and whisk to a good combine, letting all the flavors get together well.

While the marinade is done, put the chicken cuts into the bowl and toss them until well coated. Cover the bowl with cling film and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Preheat your grill meanwhile, lightly oil the grill grates.

When the chicken is well marinated, take your Royal Gourmet stainless steel barbecue skewers and thread the meat onto them. You can also thread some similar-sized vegetable cuts, for example onions and peppers, for the variety of taste.

When all the skewers are done, place them upon grill over medium high heat with Royal Gourmet barbecue tongs. Put the lid down and let the grill do its job, flip occasionally.

It takes approximately 5 minutes on each side, depending on the size of your meat cuts.

When the chicken skewers are done, transfer them to a platter.

You can prepare some fresh vegetables to serve together with the freshly grilled chicken.

The yogurt mixture gives the chicken nice color while the grill makes it even better with adding the char marks. In that case, all the skewers look so appealing and mouthwatering.

If you haven’t tried this marinade for your chickens before, you’ll have to do it next time when you raise up the backyard lid. The recipe is great for family gathering and everybody will love it!
