Grilled Chicken with Chimichurri

Grilled Chicken with Chimichurri

The Argentinean sauce Chimichurri goes perfectly with grilled meat, which makes it very popular in Latin America region. When it comes to Chimichurri, people usually think of steaks or beef. As a matter of fact, this flavorful green sauce is awesome with grilled chicken as well.

If you want to do something a little bit fancier than burgers, wings and hotdogs, this recipe is ideal for you. It is simple, delicious and affordable.

Ingredients you’ll need:

Chicken breast

Salt

Ground pepper

Olive oil

For Chimichurri sauce:

Fresh cilantro

Fresh parsley

3 tbsp chopped onion

2 tbsp minced garlic

1 tbsp dried oregano

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp red pepper flake

1 tbsp red wine vinegar

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp salt

1 tsp ground black pepper

Tools you’ll need:

Royal Gourmet Barbecue Tongs

Grills Recommended:

Royal Gourmet Gas Grill SG6002

Royal Gourmet Charcoal Grill with Offset Smoker CC1830F

Chimichurri sauce always goes well with grilled meat. Try this recipe out and you’ll find out why.

It’s actually really easy to make the chimichurri sauce. It’s simply about blending all the ingredients together (chop the cilantro and parsley in advance). Add all the sauce ingredients mentioned above to a food processor, turn on to mix them well, while you can already smell the refreshing fragrance.

When the sauce is done, pour it out to a bowl.

If you don’t have food processor, the pestle and mortar also work great in making this sauce, or even better, since mashing the ingredients help bring out their awesome flavors.

Put the Chimichurri sauce aside and it’s time to grill.

Simply drizzle the chicken breast with olive oil, sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Let the chicken marinate for 30 minutes, meanwhile preheat your Royal Gourmet grill and lightly oil the grates. Chickens are easy to grill, and both Royal Gourmet charcoal and gas grills are great in grilling chicken.

With Royal Gourmet barbecue tongs, place the chicken on grill grates over medium high heat. Grill the chicken 8-10 minutes on each side or until it’s no longer pink.

Once the chicken breast is nicely grilled, transfer it on a cutting board and rest for a couple of minutes.

Slice the chicken breast if you want. Drizzle with the delicious green sauce on top.

The chicken is tender, smokey and juicy, while the Chimichurri brings different layers of flavors, which are just perfect balance. If you have never tried Chimichurri with chicken before, you’ll regret not having this earlier after your first bite.
