Whiskey Steak Marinade

  

This is another great recipe for steaks. If you are a both whiskey lover and steak lover, it’s probably a recipe suits you the best. Yes, you can also cook your nice cut of meat with whiskey. It’s actually really tasty. Since you’ve already got some alcohol in party, why not bringing some more to your grilled meat?


Moreover, if you are looking for some new steak marinades to try out, you won’t want to miss this one.

 

Ingredients you’ll need:

Steaks

1 onion, chopped

3-4 cloves of garlic, minced

Stems of fresh thyme, finely chopped

Your favourite whiskey

2 tbsp olive oil

3 tbsp honey

2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp salt

1 tsp ground black pepper

1 tsp hot sauce

Royal Gourmet Barbecue Tongs

Royal Gourmet Silicone Barbecue Brush

 

 

Firstly, you need to prepare some nice steaks, either type is fine.

 

Take a big bowl and add all the marinade ingredients together. Whisk to combine and let all flavors get together well.

 

When the marinade is done, take a Ziploc bag and put the steaks as well as the marinade in. Let the amazing flavor come to the meat for a while. You are supposed to marinate 30-60 minutes, and the meat is ready to go.

 

Preheat your grill and lightly grease the grates. The charcoal grill is always preferred while cooking steaks, but if you just got gas one, it will still work. The grill we use in this recipe is Royal Gourmet charcoal grill CC1830F, with which there comes an offset smoker.

 

While the steaks are well-marinated and the grill is nice and hot, it’s time to go. With Royal Gourmet barbecue tongs, drain and discard the marinade and place the steaks on grates over medium high heat.

 

It takes 5-7 minutes for each side, during which time baste the reserved marinade frequently with Royal Gourmet silicone barbecue brush.

 

When the steaks reach desired doneness, transfer them to a cutting board. Remember to use another pair of tongs instead of the one you used for raw meat.

 

Let the steaks rest for 10-15 minutes and slice to serve.

 

The boozy taste of whiskey is removed after cooking, and all you will get is the great smokey flavor and the sweetness from honey. And the freshness from thyme is just in a right balance.

If you are tired of the “normal” steak taste, this recipe is definitely worth trying. And it’s another way to make the best of your whiskey at home.
