Bang Bang Shrimp

Bang Bang Shrimp

In summer when you have friends coming by, you’ll need some great finger food that is delicious and easy to pick up. Shrimp is always an ideal choice. In this recipe, we are going to make grilled bang bang shrimp. Traditionally, bang bang shrimp is a dish in which shrimps are deeply fried. However, grilling is, from my perspective, the best way to make shrimps. Your friends probably don’t like the hot oil smell in a hot summer day.

Why not making a little difference in improving this dish? Especially when you got a nice grill in backyard, it’s definitely a delicious appetizer for game day, or any kinds of parties.

Ingredients you’ll need:

Shrimps, cleaned and deveined

2 tsp paprika

2 tsp granulated garlic powder

1 tsp salt

1 tsp ground black pepper

2 tbsp olive oil

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1/4 cup sweet chili sauce

1 tbsp yogurt

1 tsp sriracha sauce

Some green onion, chopped

Tools you’ll need:

Royal Gourmet Barbecue Tongs

Royal Gourmet Silicone Barbecue Brush

Get your shrimps deveined and cleaned, pad them to dry with paper towel. Mix the paprika, granulated garlic powder, salt and pepper.

With Royal Gourmet silicone barbecue brush, apply olive oil evenly to all the shrimps on both sides. Sprinkle the paprika mixture and toss the shrimps well. While the shrimps are well coated, put aside and let them marinate in room temperature for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, preheat the grill and lightly grease the grates with oil.

While the grill is nice and hot, it’s ready to go. Place the well-marinated shrimps upon grill over high heat. If your shrimps are small in size, it is recommended to thread them on Royal Gourmet stainless steel skewers, preventing the shrimps from falling down.

While the shrimps are in grill, make the dipping sauce for this bang bang shrimp. The dish is, in fact, mostly about the sauce. As long as you make the sauce in a right way, your shrimps will come with great flavor, there’s no doubt about it.

And the sauce is really easy to make. In a small bowl, add the mayonnaise, yogurt, sweet chili sauce, sriracha and chopped green onion. Whisk so that everything blends to each other well. You’ll in no time smell the amazing taste from this sauce.

After 3-5 minutes of grilling time on each side, the shrimps are ready to go.

Serve the shrimps with the sauce just made, and your tasteful bang bang shrimp is simply done.

You can either take it as appetizer in the party, or serve with tortillas and some salad so that you can have flavorful bang bang shrimp tacos. No matter in which way you serve them, they are always so nice and tasty with the dipping sauce. Without frying, you are able to enjoy much more shrimp flavor as well as the unique smokey flavor.

Try this recipe next time in backyard, and your guests will be impressed.
