Flank Steak with Chimichurri


Chimichurri is a classic Argentinean sauce with a great and tangy flavor. This green sauce is made with herbs and goes really well with all types of grilled meats, especially savory steaks.

The freshly grilled flank steak slices topped with Chimichurri sauce is something absolutely irresistible! If you haven’t tried it yet, this recipe is the one you can’t miss.


Ingredients you’ll need:

For Chimichurri sauce:

Fresh parsley

Fresh cilantro

3 garlic cloves

1/2 cup chopped onions

2 tbsp red wine vinegar

2 tbsp olive oil

Fresh juice from 1 lime

1 tsp red pepper flakes

1 tsp kosher salt

1/2 tsp ground pepper

1/2 tsp ground cumin

For flank steak:

2 tsp kosher salt

2 tsp ground pepper

1 tsp granulated onions

1 tsp granulated garlic

2 tsp brown sugar

1/2 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp chili powder

Olive oil

The steak comes first.

Take a small bowl and mix all of the rub spices, whisk until it’s well-combined.


Sprinkle some olive oil on the steak and rub over the steak. Set aside for 20-30 minutes.


Meanwhile, preheat your Royal Gourmet grill to high heat, grease the grates with oil.


With Royal Gourmet barbecue tongs, transfer the well-marinated flank steak in grill directly over the high heat. It is quick to grill the flank steak, therefore you need to keep an eye on your meat. Never overcook a flank steak.


It takes approximately 3-4 minutes for each side, and you’ll get a beautifully grilled medium rare steak, nice and browned.


When the flank steak is done, let it rest on a cutting board for 10 minutes, meanwhile prepare the Chimichurri sauce.


As a matter of fact, a great sauce with so many layers of flavors can be done with ease. Simply put all the ingredients in a blender and mix them well.


The technique is probably about using the blender. You will want your Chimichurri sauce with a bit more texture and not that smooth, in which case, you need to do it in moderation, instead of blending everything quickly. Control your blender well with patience.


When everything is well-mixed, pour the sauce out.

Slice the flank steak and topping with this lovely and flavorful Chimichurri sauce. Serve with lime wedges.


The green sauce imparts a fresh and garlicky flavor to the savory steak, which is nothing but delicious! Once you tried it, you’ll fall in love with the incredible taste.
