Lemon Herb Chicken

In grilling season, what is the most popular meat to cook upon your grill? I guess it must be chicken. Everybody is looking for a variety of recipes of grilled chicken. If you are getting bored of that tomato-based sweet and spicy flavor, you’ll certainly want to try this fresh and lemony chicken from today’s recipe.

Ingredients you’ll need:

Zest and fresh juice from 2 lemons

1/2 cup olive oil

3 garlic cloves, minced

2 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped

2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped

2 tbsp fresh oregano, chopped

1 tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

Chicken

Tools you’ll need:

Royal Gourmet Barbecue Tongs

Royal Gourmet Silicone Barbecue Brush

You can use either chicken thighs, breasts or even the whole chicken for this recipe, and adjust the grilling time accordingly.

Take a bowl and combine the olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic and chopped herbs, sprinkle some salt and pepper, whisk until it becomes a good mixture.

Put your chicken in the bowl, toss to let them get well-coated with the marinade, which you can also achieve in a sealable bag.

Let the chicken marinate in room temperature for at least 30 minutes. The acid from lemon juice will help tenderize the chicken, while the natural fragrance from herb will impart the chicken a unique fresh flavor, making the chicken even tastier.

Preheat your gas grill for about 10 minutes. Brush the grates lightly with some oil.

When your chicken is well-marinated and your grill is nice and hot, you are ready to grill.

With Royal Gourmet barbecue tong, place the chicken on grates directly over high heat, as you want to let it sear for 1 or 2 minutes, so that the skin becomes crispy and keep all the moisture inside.

1 or 2 minutes later, remember to transfer your chicken to medium heat area. If you are using Royal Gourmet charcoal grill, build two heat zones and move your chicken from direct heat to indirect heat zone.

Close the lid and let the grill do its work. If you want to add moisture, you can make the best use of the left marinade and baste your chicken with the heat-resistance Royal Gourmet silicone barbecue brush.

Once your chicken is cooked, transfer them to a platter, let it rest for 5-10 minutes, and drizzle some olive oil and fresh lemon juice.

The fragrant lemon herb chicken is easily done.

When you cut the chicken, you can see the mouthwatering juices coming out from meat, making the dish even more tempting. Natural herb flavor combines the chicken meat flavor and lemony aroma, which will definitely be the highlight of your day.
